How to Apply
The performing artist ( i.e., not a representative) must fill out and submit the online application form below:
- Recitals take place from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM, immediately following the sung prayer of Vespers.
- Recitals are not held on Sundays when other major performance such an Eccles Organ Festival Recital, a Choral Concert, Choral Vespers, or a Madeleine Festival event is scheduled.
- A small stipend will be provided.
- The performer is solely responsible for all travel, hotel accommodations, transportation to and from the Cathedral of the Madeleine, and for meal expenses incurred.
- Selling tickets, CDs and DVDs is forbidden.
- Proposed programs must be tailored for a general audience.
- Practice on the Gallery Organ from approximately 8:30 PM onward on the Saturday evening before the date of the performance.
Eligibility
- Open to organists who have an active career as concert organist and to organ students who have achieved recognition for their talent and ability.
- Applicants must be experienced in the art of registering a large pipe organ with mechanic action and must know how to use a standard combination action.
Selection Criteria
- Quality of supporting materials (at least one recorded video and the curriculum vitæ of the performer) that demonstrate musical and programming talent
- Attractiveness of the proposed program for a general public
- Thorough responses and accuracy of proposed program’s timing
